Overview
We are seeking a full-time Production Area Material Handler (2nd Shift) at Garmin’s U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for storing and pulling parts to support SMT operations, moving production assemblies between operations, and obtaining other materials as required.

We are seeking a full-time Production Area Material Handler (2nd Shift) at Garmin’s U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for storing and pulling parts to support SMT operations, moving production assemblies between operations, and obtaining other materials as required.
Essential Functions
- Pull material from Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) as required
- Return unused material to ASRS
- Maintain part number identification of materials and maintain moisture sensitive devices per storage criteria
- Walk a frequent circuit through Manufacturing to move production assemblies between operations
- Deliver “Floor Issued” items requested by Production Associates
- Refill and deliver commonly used adhesives and chemicals from parent storage containers and label properly
- Deliver commonly used consumables in the factory such as finger cots, gloves, and soldering tips
- Assist with capturing current snapshot of inventory when implementing Engineering Change Orders in the factory
- Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin’s Attendance Policy)
- Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements
- Must possess the ability to lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
- Must be able to frequently walk or stand for extended periods
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision and distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Cleanliness zone area requirements: This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear) to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience with MRP/ERP applications or inventory systems (Preferably Oracle)
- Must be able to frequently walk or stand for extended periods
- Must possess the ability to lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision and distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Previous warehouse and manufacturing experience
