Overview
We are seeking a full-time ITC & Transportation Analyst in our Mexico location (Tlalnepantla de Baz, Edo. Mexico). In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the importation of products through U.S. and Mexican customs, ensuring timely and full compliance with Mexican Official Standards and adherence to regulatory updates and notifications (NOMs/CRT) and Garmin's policies.
Essential Functions
- Manage day to day customs and regulatory requirements to legally import products into Mexico ensuring these operations are conducted in accordance with established programs and in compliance with customs laws and Garmin standards
- Oversee all aspects of the process of certification, including managing bids, monitoring laboratory status, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications
- Maintain close communication with internal and external suppliers, including Garmin Compliance and Logistics teams, customs brokers, and transportation providers, to identify the status of shipments and prepare/send the necessary documentation
- Identify compliance requirements (such as Dictamen Técnico, letters of justification, frequencies and technologies according to HTS code) for all products, and manage the processes to ensure timely and fully compliant imports into Mexico
- Ensure and oversee proper inventory control (overages and shortages) during the import process, as well as maintain proper controls, records, and management of samples for the certification process
- Manage, update, and maintain databases related to products, certifications, and import payments
- Oversee the reception of invoices and coordinate payments for taxes, transportation, and incidentals
- Accept and complete projects and other miscellaneous Compliance and Transportation duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Trade / Foreign Trade / International Commerce or other related field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrates proficient knowledge in NOM’s compliance and dealing with brokers and foreign suppliers
- Demonstrates proficient working knowledge in Certifications (including legal and administrative requirements)
- Demonstrates proficient communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) in English and Spanish
- Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Desired Qualifications
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritizing and multitasking effectively while meeting or exceeding deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Experience with import/export procedures to Mexico
- Experience in international trade
