Overview



We are seeking a full-time Aviation Business Analyst 1 onsite at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for being a highly motivated and visible professional who supports department Vice President, Directors and Managers in daily activities required to assemble, review, and maintain data covering all aspects of the manufacture and sale of avionics equipment. This position will encompass daily interaction with various departments internally as well as managing monthly, quarterly, and yearly product forecast, competitive product and program analysis, and participating in strategic business reviews. This role requires some travel as this individual will assist sales at major tradeshows and periodic regional events, as well as support onsite meetings with customers and industry partners.

Essential Functions

  • Provide and maintain accurate internal product cost structure to support margin and program analysis with periodic oversight and guidance
  • Effectively support the entire Aviation Business Segment’s product pricing process, including FRM112s, Pricing Booklets, and year-end reviews, with periodic oversight and guidance
  • Support the development, implementation and management of sales tracking and reporting tools to help communicate sales and order status to the Aviation sales team
  • Prepare competitive product comparisons including pricing, feature and market analysis with periodic oversight and guidance
  • Accurately prepare various scenarios to understand non-recurring and/or internal costs, programmatic needs, deferred revenues or other analysis to be used in customer discussions with periodic oversight and guidance
  • Support various stakeholders in the preparation and alignment of internal forecasts, estimates and strategic initiatives
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, yearly and long-term forecast, pricing, and inventory planning tools to facilitate management review and direction

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Possess a proven track record in meeting and achieving goals
  • Must be team and detail oriented, possess a positive attitude, and a strong passion and enthusiasm for customer satisfaction
  • Ability to present to large groups
  • Ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and stay organized in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality – must take great pride in the work you produce
  • Emphasis and expertise using Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Must possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel (30% of time or greater)

Desired Qualifications

  • Aviation industry knowledge
  • Experience working in the aviation marketplace
  • Private Pilot License
  • Instrument Rating
