Overview



We are seeking a full-time Process Engineering Intern in our Salem, OR location. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting Process Engineers in developing and coordinating manufacturing processes in the industrial plant.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with determining space requirements for various functions and plan or improve production methods including layout, production flow, tooling and production equipment, material, fabrication, assembly methods and staffing requirements
  • Assist in communicating with planning/design staff concerning product design and tooling to assure efficient production methods
  • Assist with estimating production times and determining optimum staffing for production schedules
  • Assist with applying statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements potential and to analyze product or process performance
  • Assist with creating/maintaining design for manufacturability guidelines and training Engineering on the guidelines
  • Assist with reviewing product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract specifications
  • Assist with coordinating activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems
  • Assist with designing processes, tools, or systems utilizing and applying knowledge of engineering principles
  • Assist with applying expertise to continuously improve products, processes, and associates and evaluate equipment/processes to ensure associate safety
  • Assist with preparing recommendations for reorganization of units and job duties to increase efficiency/eliminate excess processing steps/labor costs
  • Prepare reports based on findings and present reports to peers/management

Basic Qualifications:

  • Completed coursework in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail/quality

  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
