Overview
We are seeking a full-time Radar Electrical/Design Engineer - Aviation in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and verifying FPGA digital logic designs. We are looking for an FPGA design engineer with radar / signal processing expertise.
Essential Functions
- Perform FPGA architectural role for multi-FPGA radar processing systems.
- Support trade-off analyses of radar / DSP algorithm implementation options. Support FPGA part selection and system partitioning (i.e. allocation to HW, SW, or FPGA).
- Create, debug, and verify FPGA-based designs. Support FPGA design certification activities (DO-254).
- Collaborate effectively with other FPGA design team members.
- Collaborate effectively with team members from HW, SW, and other technical disciplines.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with a complicated schematic and PCB design consisting of one or more PCB’s
- Broad technical knowledge and skills in one or more areas of Electrical Engineering (e.g., analog, digital, RF, and/or DSP)
Desired Qualifications
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- Extensive circuit design experience for consumer or aviation products
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital logic design
- Demonstrated knowledge of one or more of the following: radar, radio, DSP
- Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team with contributors of various experience levels and technical backgrounds
- Significant FPGA design experience
- Strong working knowledge & experience of radar processing and DSP
