Overview
We are seeking a full-time Process Engineer 2 - Systems Test in our Olathe, KS location. Support production throughout the product life cycle to ensure product meets overall system objectives. Works closely with program management, software engineering and manufacturing throughout the production life-cycle to ensure product meets overall system objectives.
Essential Functions
- Support implementation of product updates (hardware and software)
- Interface with production to schedule prototype builds
- Review and support process engineering with new software / test releases
- Validate new units meets customers LDM checks and functional needs
- Drive collaboration between functional areas (Process Engineering, Analysis, Quality, Design)
- Serve as the local expert in test systems and product functionality
- Understand the functionality of the units and how it interacts with other components / systems in the vehicle
- Understand the testing methodologies (Why are we testing these specific items at each station? How would a failure impact the functionality of the unit)
- Understand changes from software update to the next. (Software functionality, test software, hardware, etc.)
- Collaborate with process engineers and developers to streamline or modify test sequences
- Provide failure analysis support
- Support analysis of 0KM, warranty, and inline true failures
- SQL script creation for evaluation of various production metrics
- Maintain customer specific test racks and updates component hardware/software/writing/coding as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree in software, computer, or electrical engineering AND a minimum 4 years experience in electronic manufacturing, testing or similar role OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- 10% travel with additional travel required as part of initial training
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated, flexible and committed to meeting deadlines
- Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
- Proficient computer and technical skills
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrates full use of industry standards and procedures
- Demonstrates proficiency and knowledge in use of engineering tools
- Demonstrates use of Lean techniques in process development
- Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- JIRA and Confluence experience
- Six Sigma Certification
- Previous experience with AS9100 and NADCAP
- Demonstrated Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Previous experience with Electrical panel design, PLC and HMI programming, controls and vision systems, and VB/VB.net/C# programming
- Excellent problem-solving ability
