Overview
We are seeking a full-time HRIS Systems Administrator 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for handling basic system administration, application, and end user support for assigned systems and developing basic assigned reports and metrics utilizing Garmin’s HR systems and databases and analyzing data to support data driven decision making, effective management of HR and business operations and process improvement.
Essential Functions
- Understand Garmin HR systems, processes and databases including but not limited to: ADP, Kronos, Taleo and Oracle for basic effective administration and reporting
- Serve as systems administrator for HRIS systems including providing basic end user support, handling user setups and changes, troubleshooting basic issues, assisting in the implementation of upgrades and changes and provide excellent customer service to end users
- Work collaboratively with IT to troubleshoot, research and escalate basic issues as necessary, proactively keeping end-users aware of status and taking responsibility for ensuring that outstanding issues are addressed in a timely manner
- Run core HR transactions critical in support of Garmin’s various business operations.
- Design, document, implement and monitor ad hoc and ongoing basic reports in HR systems that accurately reflect internal customer requirements and deliver effective customer service
- Conduct basic testing of functionality and reports to characterize bugs and verify new accuracy of application and reporting functionality
- Implements basic solutions which contribute toward HR tactical goals
- Apply understanding of HR related legislation/regulations and Garmin HR policies and follow relevant laws and regulations
- Provide outstanding customer service experience to associates and other stakeholders, referring potentially difficult interactions to manager
- Provide information, advice and counsel to associates and management regarding basic systems issues
- Gather/analyze facts and data for business solutions and collaborate with management on development and implementation of solutions
- Work collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Business, Human Resources or related field
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrates aptitude to learn and effectively apply knowledge of HR systems, technology, practices, processes, and programs
- Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others
- Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to maintain accuracy and a high level of quality in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates effective time management, organizational and follow up skills with a keen attention to detail and quality
- Demonstrates an understanding of effective time management, organizational, and follow up skills
- Must demonstrate the capability and commitment to maintain confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources matters
- Listen effectively to issues, provide alternatives and facilitate the resolution of conflicts that arise
- Ability to research and identify information necessary for effective problem solving
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of Garmin’s organization, customers, market segments, products, operations and strategies
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and/or experience with Oracle HR Management systems, Taleo Reporting universe, Taleo Learn (formerly Learn.com), and online benefits enrollment applications
- Proficient knowledge and/or experience with Kronos Workforce Central Timekeeping and/or Absence Management modules and developing reports in ADP Payforce Query, ADP Info View and ADP Reporting
