Overview



We are seeking a full-time Configuration Control Specialist in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and/or leading tasks to maintain the configuration of Garmin’s systems and products by documenting, tracking and controlling changes throughout the product life cycle.

Essential Functions

  • Applies Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin’s image and culture
  • Has a working knowledge of the following:
    • Product Lifecycle Management
    • ERP software
    • Inventory and Forecast Planning
    • Engineering Change Orders
    • Bill of Materials structures
    • Logistics and Distribution
  • Ability to use and apply departmental tools in programs such as Excel and Qlik
  • Demonstrates leadership in process improvements and brings new ideas for consideration
  • Builds relationships with internal customers and partners with team members on complex tasks
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate at a high level with teams across varied disciplines
  • Uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes
  • Applies an understanding of operations, production and inventory process definitions to daily activities
  • Provides guidance to other departments regarding standard practices and expectations
  • Able to work with others toward a common goal and encourage a positive atmosphere
  • Demonstrates good judgment in prioritizing tasks, setting schedules and risk taking

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Project lead for small projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills
  • Solid understanding of parts drawings and implementing changes within a quality system by using Product Lifecycle
  • Management Software such as Agile or similar tools
  • Solid understanding of supply chain, manufacturing processes, and ERP systems
