Overview



We are seeking a full-time Buyer Indirect IT Hardware & Software in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be purchase Software, Software as a Service, Networking or Security Hardware, Client Hardware and other support services as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Support all Garmin departments by procuring Software, Software as a Service, Networking or Security Hardware, Client Hardware and other support services as assigned, including documenting and communicating information by being a liaison between the internal customer and the supplier.
  • Develop new sources of supply and services
  • Apply expertise to continuously improve products, procedures and services being purchased
  • Must be able to create, analyze, and negotiate multiple RFP’s and contracts at the same time
  • Understand and negotiate contractual terms/conditions
  • Apply knowledge of department processes, procedures, and guidelines for Purchasing Department in support of ISO9001/QS9000/TS16949
  • Develop/manage supplier relationships in support of Garmin’s mission statement
  • Manage and reconcile procurement card activities
  • Work to ensure departmental goals and metrics are met

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree AND a minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines with uncompromising ethics
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines
  • Must possess demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) process
  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be a motivated self-starter and demonstrate excellent problem solving abilities while being very detail orientated/process driven with strong negotiating/analytical skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations or Material related field
  • Previous Oracle experience
  • Previous Indirect Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
