Overview
As an Intermediate Product Performance Analyst, you will be a valuable and integral part of product development providing representation of the Garmin user through collection, analysis, and communication of activity data collected from athletes. The team’s work currently supports the Products division. The Fitness Products division is responsible for the VariaTM family of products for cycling awareness, the RallyTM family of bike power meters, and essential fitness accessories such as HRM-Pro Plus and Bike Speed/Cadence sensors.
At Garmin, Product Performance Analysts are passionate about our customers and work to continuously improve our products. Essential functions include:
- Work with product managers to identify and associate product specifications with key aspects of the athlete’s needs and expectations with respect to fitness technology
- Work with engineering teams to design and document appropriate test plans to answer key development questions
- Conduct data collection sessions according to the agreed upon test protocols
- Record, download and enter test data accurately
- Analyze data using internally developed processing tools
- Document test results and effectively communicate with internal product developers such that the interests of the Garmin user are represented in decision making processes
- Provide reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
- Develop procedures and analytics to assess performance of new technologies as well as improvements to existing functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or a substantially similar field with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
- A passion for fitness, health and wellness and a demonstrated interest in adopting new technology in these areas
- An intrinsic drive to perform to one’s full potential at every opportunity
- The ability to synthesize information to form an educated opinion
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to use those skills to express opinions in a collaborative setting
- Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a flexible and fast-paced environment
- Must be team-oriented and practice behaviors that stimulate effective collaboration across multidisciplinary groups
- Must be detail oriented and can work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working independently at off-site locations
Other desirable qualifications:
- Graduate Degree in a relevant field with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
- Experience and proficiency using Python, or other development tools for the purpose of analyzing and visualizing data
- Technical knowledge of Camera and/or Video functionality
- Experience working in a fast-paced industry setting
- Personal experience with Garmin fitness products and/or wearables
