Overview
We are seeking a full-time Sales Manager in our Santiago, Chile location. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall channels; Dealers, Retailers, Distributors, Garmin Store, ecommerce and B2B to serve our local business categories of Fitness and Outdoor as well as supervising associates and team leaders.
Essential Functions
- Enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively
- Develop business strategies to raise our partners and customers pool, expand revenue and optimize profitability
- Maintain and grow existing accounts with an organized approach handling all details of account follow-up to generate more business
- Lead the team with innovative ideas, calendar planning and execution of sales efforts
- Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to team
- Prepare and maintain monthly sales forecasts for all fitness and outdoors products
- Monitor market for need to modify pricing to meet sales objectives/profit goals as well as to determine best product range and maintain excellent product/pricing knowledge
- Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service and relationships
- Report on retail/buying trends, customer needs, profits, etc. and propose innovative ideas to increase market share
- Directly supervise various levels of team members/team leaders by setting the tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training and mentoring along with daily observation, assuring appropriate attendance and aiding team members
- Participate in recruiting activities, interview, hire, train, and evaluate performance for the team to assess training needs/build career paths and work with HR on associate relations including writing/conducting annual performance evaluations
- Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc.)
- Complete and ensure compliance with policies/procedures, complete timely and succinct trip/status reports, and manage initiatives with excellent project management skills
- Available to work and visit retail stores at retail hours when needed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Engineering, Industrial Civil Engineering, or Business Administration AND a minimum of 2 years leadership and/or management experience working as retail manager, sales manager or related experience
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in Spanish and English
- Must demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and POS systems
- Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to provide demonstrated results by meeting and/or exceeding sales goals in positions similar to this role and be results driven
- Must possess experience in technology, sports or outdoors marketplace
- Must provide demonstrated evidence of proven track record of sales successes
- Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with excellent time management skills
- Able to generate/support pragmatic solutions that meet Garmin’s sales goals, while maintaining high customer service standards, and able to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision
- Public speaking experience or experience in making high level sales presentations
Desired Qualifications
- Background in retail management, financial planning, and employee recruitment
- Knowledge or have worked with ERP like Oracle, and BI tools like QlikView
- Personal experience in using recreational, consumer electronics, cellular/wireless distribution, fitness, or marine products
- Master Degree or candidate for Master
- Excellent product knowledge of communication and navigation systems
- Practice a sport on a regular basis
