Overview



Garmin Canada has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Coordinator to join the wearables platform team. As a member of the wearables platform team you will provide project coordination activities towards the integration of our core optical platforms across Garmin’s Fitness and Outdoor products. You will work directly with all engineering disciplines and be responsible for creating and maintaining schedules, coordinating project tasks, ongoing process improvement and driving projects to completion.

The Wearables platform team currently supports over 40 wearables, enabling essential features for Garmin’s customers. You will work directly with others across Garmin’s product segments, including Fitness and Outdoor, and contribute to creating, productizing, and maintaining new technologies for consumer products that push the boundaries on size, power and value.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate a portfolio of multiple integration projects
  • Work with product teams to define integration schedules and key tasks and ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain clear project status, documentation and reporting within projects
  • Lead effective and efficient team meetings by ensuring team members and stakeholders are appropriately informed of project scope and schedule
  • Drive assigned projects, using good judgment in identifying issues and risks, mitigation plans and when to escalate issues
  • Building relationships and gain alignment with project teams

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline
  • Project coordination experience and/or demonstrated knowledge in project management concepts/processes, including schedule, scope and risk management
  • Must be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
  • Must be team-oriented, flexible, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Integrity and strong work ethic
  • Excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint) or similar

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in the development of consumer electronics products
  • Previous experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)
  • Previous experience with project scheduling and tracking software (ie. MS Project)
