Overview
We are seeking a full-time Project Manager Order Management Support in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing small to large domestic and international projects of average to significant complexity and developing project plans with inter-department and global dependencies and multi-phased deliverables within order management, customer, and pricing modules.
Essential Functions
- Manages small to large domestic and international order fulfillment lifecycle projects of average to significant complexity
- Develops project plans with inter-department dependencies and multi-phased deliverables, including complete order management related system implementations, acquisitions, process improvements, system enhancements, global alignments, documentation, etc.
- Gathers/reports project status to internal/mid-level management business owners
- Participates in project definition activities including feature analysis and system tradeoffs
- Develops/leads project management process improvements
- Understands business impacts of issues and how they relate to Order Management solutions
- Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
- Serves as a mentor to less experienced Project Managers and/or Project Coordinators
- Demonstrates broad understanding of Garmin’s business model including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Customer Support, and Sales & Marketing
- Consistently demonstrates quality/effectiveness in work documentation/organization.
- Holds project team associates accountable for deliverables, including the coordination of resources assigned to projects for which he/she is responsible without direct authority
- Attends/actively participates in department and facility meetings/classes
- Contributes to technical research on new order fulfillment technologies
- Domestic and international travel is essential for this position (10% of the time or greater)
- Must possess a willingness to be flexible for short notice or extended travel plans and be willing/flexible to adjust hours to support international time zones if needed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in a substantially similar role
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others in a global setting
- Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Must demonstrate advanced proficient understanding of project management principles/methodologies and possesses a demonstrated ability to adapt PM practices to meet business climate and needs
- Demonstrated experience with a proven track record in successful implementation of solutions
- Must be detail-oriented, work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision, ability to prioritize and multi-task/manage multiple projects in a flexible, fast paced and changing environment, and have superior organizational/follow-up skills with keen attention to detail/quality
