Overview
We are seeking a full-time CMM Programmer 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will operate machines and ensure the machine provides appropriate outputs, following the original blueprint and all parts of the product are positioned correctly.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrates proficiency in using standard inspection tools and methods to perform duties and responsibilities
- Proficient knowledge of Engineering specifications and change orders
- Proficient in interpreting dimensions / tolerances and perform unit of measure conversions
- Demonstrates behaviors that are conducive to Garmin's core values
- Must demonstrate the ability to remain highly motivated and work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
- Perform limited related activities applied to First Article Inspections
- Understand the importance of fixturing for the inspection process
- Able to set-up, program and operate CMM for basic inspections
- Assist in mentoring inspectors on Garmin documentation, requirements and inspection techniques as well as any new or revised procedures and methods
- Apply Lean principles and maintain 5S compliance
- Manage day-to-day priorities
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED AND a minimum of 2 years of experience operating and programming a CMM
- Completed Fundamentals AND Advanced CMM and GD&T training
- Familiarity with Optical Comparator and Vision systems is preferred
- Able to communicate inspection plans, findings, and issues to other programmers
- Open to continuing to advance knowledge of programming systems and GD&T
- Possess the ability to create an inspection plan and perform an inspection
