Role Overview

The Lead – Compliance (Technologies) will drive regulatory and policy compliance for GalaxEye’s technology development, manufacturing, and international operations. This role focuses on navigating the complex policy environment governing the space and defence ecosystem — including licensing, export–import controls, government approvals, and international regulatory obligations.

The position requires strong understanding of Indian regulatory processes, global space governance. frameworks, and cross-border movement of high-technology systems. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring compliant execution of missions, partnerships, procurement, and shipments.

This role builds upon the foundational responsibilities of technology compliance research and coordination, expanding into ownership of regulatory strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Government Liaison

● Manage compliance with Indian regulatory bodies relevant to the space sector, including IN-SPACe, WPC, DGFT, MEA, DRDO, and related authorities.

● Coordinate approvals, authorizations, and clearances required for technology development, testing, launches, and operations.

● Act as the primary interface with government agencies for compliance matters.

Policy Monitoring & Impact Assessment

● Track evolving national and international policies affecting space activities, remote sensing, dual-use technologies, and defense-linked programs.

● Assess regulatory impact on business operations and recommend compliance strategies.

● Support leadership with policy briefings and risk assessments for new initiatives or markets.

Export & Import Compliance

● Manage export and import requirements for satellite systems, components, ground equipment, and technical data.

● Handle licensing under SCOMET and other applicable export control frameworks.

● Oversee customs documentation, cross-border shipment compliance, and coordination with logistics partners.

● Ensure adherence to international restrictions, sanctions regimes, and destination-country requirements.

Licensing & Documentation

● Prepare and maintain regulatory filings, license applications, declarations, and compliance records.

● Develop internal SOPs and checklists for regulatory processes across projects.

● Support audits, inspections, and due diligence requests from authorities or partners.

Cross-Functional Coordination

● Work closely with engineering, supply chain, program management, and business teams to ensure compliance is integrated into project execution.

● Advise teams on regulatory constraints affecting procurement, collaborations, and technology transfer.

● Facilitate compliance training and awareness across functions. International Operations Support

● Enable compliant participation in global missions, launches abroad, and foreign partnerships.

● Coordinate regulatory requirements for overseas testing, integration, or deployment activities.

Required

● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Public Policy, International Relations, or related field.

● 3–5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, policy, export–import operations, or government affairs within technology, aerospace, defence, telecom, or manufacturing sectors.

● Strong understanding of Indian regulatory processes and documentation requirements.

● Familiarity with export–import procedures, licensing regimes, and cross-border logistics for high-value equipment.

● Excellent research, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills

Preferred

● Experience working with government agencies or regulated industries.

● Exposure to space, aviation, defence, or other dual-use technology domains.

● Prior experience managing international shipments or regulatory approvals for technical equipment.
