SAR Data Product Engineering Intern
GalaxEye Space
Job Description
GalaxEye Space is pioneering next-generation Earth Observation (EO) solutions, specializing in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Multi-Spectral Imagers (MSI). We deliver high-fidelity SyncFused products—fusing SAR and MSI data—to provide actionable geospatial insights to clients worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and prototype modules for the SAR data product generation pipeline.
Build utility scripts to automate repetitive tasks in data processing and validation.
Develop post-processing algorithms for SAR imagery (orthorectification, geo-registration, histogram correction, mosaicing).
Apply GIS concepts (geocoding, coordinate systems, projections) to SAR data.
Integrate processed SAR products into GIS environments (QGIS, GDAL).
Define and document Quality Assurance (QA) test cases and measurable metrics.
Implement automated validation scripts for data integrity, geometric checks, and radiometric calibration.
Connect theoretical SAR principles (range-Doppler, terrain correction) to product quality.
Observe and document end-to-end data flow from acquisition to delivery.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of scripts, algorithms, test cases, and modules.
Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc) in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, or a related field. Freshers welcome.
Strong curiosity and interest in building tools and systems from scratch, especially automation and data pipelines.
Foundational knowledge in GIS/geospatial concepts or Remote Sensing/SAR physics is a plus.
Proficiency in Python; experience with NumPy, Pandas is highly valued.
Prior exposure to geospatial libraries (GeoPandas, rasterio) is a bonus.
Meticulous attention to detail for data quality, analysis, and documentation.
Benefits
Hands-on experience with satellite SAR and SyncFused data products.
Mentorship from SAR and GIS experts.
Exposure to end-to-end data pipelines and geospatial processing.
Opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, innovative space startup.
