We will provide Satellite Imagery Datasets and Value added services to Geospatial Analytics Companies and Infrastructure enterprises. At GalaxEye, we are working to build the best remote sensing satellite and also we are researching on various aspects of remote sensing.
We are looking for a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Payload System Specialist to join our systems engineering team and and help design, assemble and operate SAR payloads. You will be required to define and support SAR Payload architecture definition in response to customer requirements and/or operational stakeholder needs. Participates in proposals, R&D and study associated with remote sensing development activities.
We are currently seeking candidates with broad understanding of SAR with engineering backgrounds in Electronics, Antennas, RF or Signal Processing.
Responsibilities:
- To define SAR Payload architecture in response to customer requirements and/or operational stakeholder needs and define Traceability to system requirements
- To generate engineering documentations: radar payloads requirements, statement of compliance, budgets, to define the functional and performance of the instrument, to perform requirements flow down, verification and validation matrix, design description, systems budgets, equipment specifications, test requirements, RFD/RFW
- To define performance models for SAR Instruments based on advanced architectural features and operating in various space acquisition geometries, including side-looking, squint-looking, forward-looking
- To define and support the development of software tools for computing performance parameters of SAR Instruments (e.g. resolution, swath width, ambiguity, resolution, accuracy, among others)
- To define and support the development of models and software tools for simulating SAR Instrument functionalities
- Perform system worst case analysis, inputs and support to program reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR
- Assist in the verification and validation, System assembly Integration and Testing of SAR system
- Specify interface exchange requirements and develop interface control documents, Develop Functional block diagrams & cable diagrams and connection diagrams
- Lead the design of electronic systems including: Definition of operational use cases, Definition of system use case, Development of logical and physical architectures
- Support higher level integration and tests at customer or Satellite Bus facility.
Requirements
Essential
- Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Remote Sensing Engineering, Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience in SAR Payload development (X or C or L-band) 5 to 10 years
- Experience in the following areas: system analysis, architecture, requirements development, design, or modelling and simulation.
- The candidate must be familiar Remote Sensing Payload instruments and associated subsystems including antenna, RF and digital equipment.
- Prior experience in Systems Integration and Testing, System Verification, or Software Verification on a large-scale program
- Ability to author analysis documentation suitable for verification artifacts
- Proficient in MATLAB/Python to be used in system engineering and design optimization.
- Hands-on can-do attitude, great interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across many technical teams
- Practical Experience in Environmental qualification testing methods and processes
- Familiarity with milestone reviews (e.g., Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review)
- Develop and deploy software that calibrates and tests imaging systems.
- Working In clean room environments while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
Preferred
- Experience with NASA, DoD, or FAA Program Management, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering standards
- Experience in the satellite life cycle testing methodologies (e.g., Hardware-in-loop, Flat-sat testing, Qualification Testing, Acceptance testing)
- Experience with satellites and satellite industry, including government civil or defense and intelligence programs
- Experience in agile development methodologies
- Detail-oriented team leader who can consistently meet deadlines
