Who are we looking for?

We are actively looking for a Satellite Operations Engineer to lead and coordinate FOSSA Satellite Operations department, contributing to the day to day operations of FOSSA Systems satellite fleet.

We are searching for individuals who know how to work in dynamic, young and agile teams supervising people and coordinating with other technical disciplines.

You will be able to participate in the different steps of the development cycle for all our internal hardware developments in ground, space and user segments.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute the development of real time, mission critical software solutions for satellite operations.
• Day to day running and coordination of the Operations team.
• Drive improvements to fleet capacity and productivity through process enhancements.
• Reporting to the CTO and flight segment responsible.
• Generate project documentation (Reports, Tests Campaigns,etc).

Profile

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Telecom Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
• Proficiency in software development, particularly in Python or similar languages.
• Familiarity with LINUX environments.
• Basic understanding of conceptual telecommunications concepts related to space and IoT (Polarization, Doppler, Link Budgets, etc.).
• Familiarity with satellite and IoT communication protocols such as CSP, MQTT, LoRaWAN, and NTN NB IoT.
• Experience in working with databases, including MySQL.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Data driven mindset with experience in statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with the space environment and its challenges.
• Proactive approach to engineering and problem solving in high demand and critical scenarios.
• Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills within a technical team.

Preferably

• Hands on experience operating spacecraft or remote systems.
• Experience coordinating resources and projects with multiple engineering teams.
• Practical expertise in data analysis for problem solving.
• Familiarity with automation and optimization tools.
• Contributions to open source software projects.
