Electronics Engineer (Portugal)

FOSSA Systems is a Spanish and Portuguese space and IoT engineering company dedicated to the manufacture of satellites to provide cost-effective and secure IoT solutions to companies with assets in remote areas.

What do we do?

FOSSA has verticalized the manufacturing process of satellites, space operations and ground segment services, with an operations and production centre in Madrid and Lisbon together with a global network of satellites in orbit and satellite control stations.

FOSSA is combining technological miniaturization with mass production techniques to launch a network of 80 of these satellites in orbit. FOSSA launches a higher number of distributed satellite constellations at a fraction of the cost of a traditional single satellite. Lower satellite costs and shorter development times allow the use of more cutting-edge technology which is competitive with existing solutions.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an electronics engineer, with professional experience on the development of low power electronics devices.

You will be actively involved in the creation and testing of FOSSA new IoT nodes and IoT modules. These devices will be able to recollect sensors data and transfer it to the client through FOSSA satellite network and/or cellular network.

Responsibilities:

• Design, manufacture and test of IoT device prototypes.
• Design and execute extensive testing plans to ensure the performance and reliability of electronic components and the systems developed.
• Work closely with engineers from other departments to achieve effective systems integration.
• Thoroughly document designs, tests, and procedures to facilitate production and troubleshooting.
• Design and assembly of mechanical elements needed for IoT device manufacturing.

Profile:

• BSc. in Electronics, Telecommunications or Industrial engineering.
• 1 to 3 years of minimum related experience. (Development of related personal projects will be considered as experience)
• Experience in using PCB design software.
• Experience handling electronics lab. instruments.
• Technically related personal projects will be valued.
• Independent worker.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Preferably:

• Educational MSc level.
• Embedded software development skills.
• Previous experience on IoT systems development.
• Mechanical CAD design
