The Opportunity
Flock Safety is searching for a dynamic QA Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Imaging Team within Device Engineering. We're constantly pushing the boundaries of camera technology, developing sophisticated systems that leverage advanced chipset features and groundbreaking in-house innovations. To accelerate this progress, we need a QA Engineer who can dive deep into the entire technology stack—from the Android/Linux application layer to middleware and even down to the driver level—to build proof-of-concept designs and prototypes. This role is crucial for enhancing our team's QA capabilities, ensuring lightning-fast productization of Flock devices, and seamlessly integrating our cutting-edge hardware with our powerful software. Your mission: deliver exceptional quality and zero regressions!
This position is on-site in Tampere, Finland.
The Skillset
We're looking for people with:
Bachelors/Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years experience
Ability to develop by using test-driven development (Android unit test frameworks)
Android OS and application testing experience
Are comfortable working cross-functionally across multiple projects
Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
Have humility, curiosity, and a passion for sharing knowledge

The First 30 Days
Learn Flock products and how to use them in the lab
Setup environments and start contributing code
Identify and solve an existing gap that we have in our testing
The First 60 Days
Implement a missing functionality in our test setup and have it run as part of CI
Add reporting for the non-functional test cases and the coverage of the test cases
90 Days & Beyond
After 90 days, you'll be fully proficient and self-assured in your role
The test setup is replicated to the other sites
The Interview Process

The Technical Assessment: Our technical assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day.
The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners.

At Flock Safety, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators.
