Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience with silicon development.
  • Experience with analog, digital, or physical design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with mixed signal simulation (analog and digital co-simulation) of data converters and clocking circuits.
  • Experience with physical design in layout, parasitic extraction, design iteration guidance, and tapeout management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., ME, EMI/ESD, RF, Antenna, Reliability, etc.) to reach consensus for product and engineering decisions.
  • Experience with low power consumer product development in portable electronics (e.g., tablets, phones, notebooks).
  • Ability to analyze engineering tradeoffs and make data-driven decisions.

About the job

The Fitbit Hardware team is responsible for the execution of Fitbit's tracker and smartwatch electronics. This team designs architecture, schematics, and layout using industry tools, plans and executes hardware testing, and coordinates with our partners in manufacturing test, firmware, Mechanical Engineering, and Central Engineering Services teams to deliver the best wearable products in the market.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$254,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Produce innovative designs with consumer appeal to meet size, performance, cost, time to market, and quality targets.
  • Lead component selection, schematic, bring-up, and test of new Fitbit smartwatches and trackers, for the entire product life cycle.
  • Direct and review PCB layout and simulation work.
  • Define test criteria, draft test plans, and oversee execution for internal or remote teams. Analyze results and present Electrical Engineering system status, risks, and mitigations to program decision makers.
  • Contribute to or develop new technologies for use in future products.
