SUMMARY
Come join our team at the facility where we are building and testing rockets as the Plumber Maintenance Technician II. In this role, you will perform both preventative and reactive maintenance on plumbing systems and mechanical infrastructure. You will also operate and support heavy equipment operations across the facility grounds.
The ideal candidate will have strong plumbing expertise—including installation, repair, and diagnostics—and general facility maintenance experience. You’ll work alongside our internal facilities department and contractors, supporting other trades as needed. This position is based at our rocket production facility in Briggs, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including PEX, PVC, CPVC, stainless steel, copper, and compression fittings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and plumbing codes to ensure proper installation methods.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues including water supply lines, drain systems, and pressurized air/gas piping.
- Test plumbing systems for leaks using air or water pressure gauges.
- Perform backflow prevention, pipe insulation, and heat-tracing applications.
- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing infrastructure and recommend improvements or preventive repairs.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as skid steer, front loader, trencher, and bulldozer for plumbing-related excavation and facility support.
- Assist with general facility maintenance tasks including carpentry, drywall patching, painting, surface maintenance, groundskeeping, and minor structural repair.
- Support other trades and special facility projects as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and contractors to support operational goals.
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Organized and proactive with attention to detail and safety.
- Problem-solver who can support fast-paced environments and evolving priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum 4–5 years of plumbing experience, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting.
- Near-journeyman level or actively working toward journeyman licensure.
- Working knowledge of plumbing codes, schematics, and safety practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.

- Ability to operate machinery such as forklift, scissor lift, bulldozer, skid steer, etc.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and respond to emergency facility issues when necessary.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with septic or lift station systems.
- Experience with process gas piping or high-purity systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork across trades (electrical, mechanical, HVAC).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
