This position will sit in our electronics manufacturing facility in Cedar Park, Texas then transition to sit at our Rocket Ranch in Briggs, Texas.
SUMMARY
Firefly Electronic Component Assemblers work closely with the Avionics team in the design, build, integration, and test of fully functional space launch rockets, satellites, and landers. This work primarily includes the assembly of avionics harnesses and associated flight hardware. The compensation and responsibilities will be adjusted to match the experience level and abilities of the candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabricate and assemble high quality, high reliability wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies, working from detailed instructions.
- Ensures that all work performed is properly and completely documented in preparation for QA inspection.
- Read and interpret design documents, process controls, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and drawings.
- Provide feedback to manufacturing engineering on quality, discrepancy identification and manufacturing and design improvements.
- Comply with the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
- Self-monitor work progress against area benchmarks and achieve on time delivery of all work.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hands on experience with hand tools to assemble or build a product (electrical, structural, or any type of trade training or experience).
- Excellent concentration and attention to detail with first-rate work efficiency and accuracy.
- Must have the dexterity and ability to perform hands on harness assembly for extended periods of time.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to use e-mail and associated MS office programs.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
Desired
- Experience with wiring and hand-held tools.
- Demonstrates basic technical skills in electro-mechanical assembly.
- Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced, constant changing production environment with flight hardware.
