ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to join our Structures Department. As part of a small, fast-paced, and passionate team, you will be instrumental developing the world’s largest liquid fueled all composite rocket and implementing full-rate production on our current vehicle and programs.

This role focuses on programming and optimizing robotic systems for advanced manufacturing processes, with an emphasis on automated fiber placement (AFP) using Ingersoll’s Gen 2 software. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing equipment performance, ensuring production efficiency, and driving continuous improvement in our manufacturing operations. This position requires a strong background in engineering, strong background in problem solving and the ability to learn quickly.
RESPONSIBILITIES (included, but not limited to):
- Develop, test, and implement robotic programming for automated fiber placement (AFP) using Ingersoll’s Gen 2 software.
- Program and configure robotic systems using RobotMaster to ensure precise and efficient operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, troubleshoot, and optimize manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Leverage computer programming skills (Python, Java, SQL, etc.) to create scripts, automate processes, and integrate systems.
- Perform equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and upgrades to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality protocols, and industry regulations during equipment operation and programming.
- Document processes, maintain technical records, and provide training or support to operators and technicians as needed.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new manufacturing tools, fixtures, or automation solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches to improve manufacturing capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience with Ingersoll’s Gen 2 software, specifically for automated fiber placement programming.
- Hands-on expertise in robotic programming using RobotMaster or similar platforms.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, SQL, and other relevant languages for automation and data management.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with automated equipment or robotic systems.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment, including robotics and control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with engineering, production, and leadership teams.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
Desired:
- 7+ years working in an aerospace manufacturing or engineering environment with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or similar area.
- Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for equipment design or simulation.
- Understanding of composite materials and their applications in manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing Black Belt certification.
