We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join our team and lead our Developer Experience initiatives. As a Senior Engineering Manager for Developer Experience, you will play a crucial role in shaping the way engineers interact with our products and services, ensuring an exceptional experience throughout the development lifecycle.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize features and improvements that enhance developer productivity and satisfaction
- Lead and manage a team of talented engineers focused on improving developer experience, including developer tooling, documentation, SDKs, and APIs
- Drive the development and execution of the Developer Experience roadmap, aligning with squads goals and developer needs
- Act as a strong advocate for the developer community, ensuring their feedback and insights are considered in the continuous improvement of our platform and services
- Monitor and analyze product adoption metrics utilizing data to drive informed decisions and optimizations
- Collect feedback in the form of surveys, forums, and interviews to better understand developer sentiment and create action plans
- Become the Engineering Org Champion by earning the trust of developers across the organization in order to continuously address problems and implement ideas related to the developer experience
- Partner with other engineering leaders to identify and plan capabilities required to meet developers needs
- Empower teams to deliver their very best work and take pride in it
Skills you have:
- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
- 6+ years of experience as an individual contributor in an engineering role
- 5+ years of experience leading high performance engineering teams
- Experience mentoring, motivating, and leading a team through successful software projects
- Experience setting business expectations and scope as well as providing technology recommendations
- Experience in both a high-growth startup and growing medium sized company is a plus
- Track record of timely delivery of high-quality software
- Excellent problem solving, issue identification and technical documentation skills
- Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams about engineering topics such as system architecture, API design, product roadmaps, and resourcing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to balance management and individual contributor responsibilities including ability to jump down to the IC level when needed to provide guidance on Code Reviews or Pull Requests
- Experience or familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: PHP, Kotlin, Scala, Python, Java, Node.js, React, MySQL, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Elasticsearch, XCUITest, Selenium, JUnit, NUnit, Espresso

- Has experience guiding platform or developer focused teams
- Loves to write clean, well-tested code - coding is not required in this role but there will be opportunities to get your hands dirty if desired
- Likes working with other engineers in a collaborative and iterative environment
- Loves to learn and teach equally well and possess a growth mindset
- Communicates well with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Participates actively in the local development and open source communities
- Has experience working with public cloud providers and cloud native application development
