We are thrilled to be looking for a proactive and adaptable People Ops Specialist to join our People team. In this role, you will be an integral part of our team, helping to facilitate smooth operations of People processes throughout our European locations. While the position is based in Berlin, you’ll be supporting teammates throughout Europe, including Ireland, France, UK, as well as remote teammates.
You will provide support to employees throughout their entire employment journey and ensure adherence to European employment laws and regulations. You will work closely with our People Operations team in the US, our People business partners, our People team leaders, and with teammates at all levels across Strava.
As a member of the People team and reporting to the Senior People Lead, Europe, you will help carry our truly “people-first” culture and continually improve our employee experience via contributing to our People programs and projects.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:
- Use your People Operations knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, highly organized thinking, and ability to balance multiple shifting priorities
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding people services, including benefits, payroll, leave, and more.
- Facilitate smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for European employees, creating a seamless and welcoming experience.
- Ensure up-to-date and accurate employee records in Workday and other HR systems, maintaining high attention to detail and data integrity.
- Partner closely with the Payroll team, ensuring accurate processing of payroll inputs and updates monthly.
- Support various ad-hoc organizational development projects, such as talent reviews, engagement surveys, and compliance training.
- Contribute to the creation and global consistency of policies and procedures, ensuring they’re locally relevant and well-articulated.
- Maintain and document processes, updating workflows as needed to identify and close any gaps.
- Collaborate with IT and Facilities teams on local workplace issues, supporting workplace operations and participating in ad hoc projects as necessary.
- Participate as a valuable member of the People team, contributing to meetings and social events to foster team connection.
You will be successful here by:
- Leveraging your experience in HR or People Operations to support employees across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of German employment legislation, with additional knowledge of French, British, and Irish legislation as a plus.
- Building trust with others through excellent communication, facilitation, and listening skills, promoting inclusivity within teams.
- Being highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment.

We’re excited about you because:
- You bring over 3 years of experience in a People Ops or HR generalist role, collaborating with all levels of an organization.
- You are familiar with an HRIS, ideally Workday (preferred but not required).
- You have a keen understanding of people dynamics and team-building, along with strong project and process management skills.
- You are driven by values, compassionate, adaptable, and enthusiastic about helping Strava continue to build a vibrant and inclusive environment.
