AIT Technician - Electronics, Integration, System & Functional Testing [F/H]

Job Description 👨‍💻

Position: AIT Technician - Electronics, Integration, System & Functional Testing

Location: Exotrail's Massy office

Department: In-Orbit Services

Reports To: AIT Team Leader

Employment Type: Full-time

Exotrail seeks a highly skilled AIT Technician specializing in Electronics, Integration, System, and Functional Testing for our SpaceVan™ project. You will play an essential role in supporting the assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft electronics subsystems to ensure they meet functional and operational standards. This role requires close collaboration with engineers and technicians to perform hardware and functional testing, manage testing environments, define and create the harness, routing diagrams, EGSE and contribute to environmental testing campaigns. A strong attention to detail, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to manage various testing configurations are crucial for success.

The current team comprises several AIT engineers and technicians across missions (LEO, GEO, Rendez-vous), and this role will support test phases for diverse mission types.

Your main tasks will be:

📌 Electronics Assembly & Integration: Perform assembly and integration of electronic subsystems, such as avionics, EPS, communication modules, and harnesses, ensuring alignment with design specifications and electrical schematics.

📌 Harness Definition: Participate on the specification of harnesses wiring diagrams, drawings and platform routing layouts.

📌 Harness Manufacturing: Produce the harnesses according to the drawings and do their installation as per the layouts.

📌 Test Definition Support: Assist the definition of test plans, test cases and test procedures for electrical and functional testing at various integration levels.

📌 System & Functional Testing: Conduct functional and system-level tests on Engineering Models (EM), Qualification Models (QM), and Flight Models (FM) to validate subsystem performance and reliability.

📌 Testing Environment Maintenance: Set up and maintain test environments, including Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and instrumentation, to optimize testing cycles and minimize downtime.

📌 Script Development: Assist in the development of automated test scripts in Python and C/C++ to enhance testing efficiency and support data collection and analysis.

📌 Test Procedure Writing: Collaborate in creating detailed test procedures and protocols for different integration and testing stages, following IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification) standards.

📌 EGSE Design: Define, identify, and where necessary develop appropriate EGSE for the support of tests and manage their design.

📌 Environmental Testing & Launch Campaign Support: Participate in environmental testing campaigns, including thermal vacuum, vibration, and shock tests, and contribute to launch preparation activities to ensure system resilience under mission conditions.

📌 Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR): Identify and report anomalies encountered during AIT, working with Quality to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.

📌 Documentation: Maintain accurate records of test results, generate comprehensive test reports, and ensure traceability of hardware and test configurations.

You will work under the supervision of the AIT Team Leader and maintain regular interactions with the cross-functional teams.

The position is opened in Exotrail's offices in Massy.
