Full job description

ExoTerra is a microsatellite company specializing in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites and launch vehicle upper stages.

This is an all-encompassing role that will modify existing processes and procedures to improve production efficiency. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience working within a team environment, be comfortable and confident working in a fast-paced environment, understand the importance of deadlines and impact to schedules.

As an Industrial Engineer at Exoterra you will be optimizing existing production processes to increase efficiency as well as creating new processes as we continue to grow. You will be supporting current production in multiple facilities including cleanrooms.

Duties and responsibilities.

  • Facility setup and layouts
  • Implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles into processes and facilities
  • Design and layout new facilities with processes and controls for production lines
  • Implementing process controls and metrics into production lines
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline operations, reduce waste, and increase productivity through innovation.
  • Working side by side with our production team to find out where the inefficiencies lie so that you can make recommendations to improve our production output.
  • Work with all our Production Engineering teams to add new technologies that are missing with IT and automation improvements.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
  • 5 plus years of related professional experiences.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and quality management principles.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must be able to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control and ITAR compliance laws, which require proof that the candidate is a U.S. person.

Desired Skills:

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • SolidWorks CAD software experience preferred
  • Visio Preferred
  • NetSuite experience Preferred
  • Epsilon3 Preferred

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
