ExoTerra is a world leader in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites and launch vehicle upper stages. We have been awarded multiple propulsion module and satellite contracts.


Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time CNC Machinist. The hired employee will assist in the manufacturing and production of flight hardware. This position is open to mainly higher-level candidates as this position will be setting up, troubleshooting, programming, and running parts through machining operations. As well as running First Article Inspection on all parts that are machined.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Machine Operation: Operate a variety of machines from Vertical mills with 4th & 5th axis capabilities to Live tooling lathes to produce high quality and precision parts to meet blue pint specifications.
  • Quality Assurance and Precision: Conduct detailed in process, and final article reports of machined parts using a variety of inspection equipment to ensure they meet strict standards set by the blueprints and quality standards of the company.
  • Machine Maintenance, Troubleshooting, General Housekeeping: Perform basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues on all machinery in department, to ensure continues operation with limited spindle downtime. Maintain a clean and organized work area and help mitigate FOD in the work area.
  • Technical Documentation: Follow procedures set by the company to accurately document production process, machine setup, and quality control measures.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment, in compliance with the company standards.
  • Production Assistance: When slow or help is needed to get deliveries out on time. Assist in the production, assembly or packing of hardware in accordance to all procedures and standards set by the company to achieve quality policy.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Machining: 1+years (preferred)
  • Machine Setup: 1+years (preferred)


Experience

  • Machining 3-axis: 1+ years (preferred)
  • Machining 5-Axis: (preferred)
  • Machine Setup: 1+years (preferred)


Education:

  • High School
