Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and skilled Account Director to join our team in Australia where our region also includes New Zealand and Pacific Islands. They will be a key member of our sales team focusing on both LEO & GEO Satellite Connectivity markets. They will need to possess deep knowledge of satellite services with a proven track record in sales within the satellite industry in this region. Experience in dealing with Government and Defence is favoured but not necessary.
In this role there will be the opportunity to manage important and well-established customers, close high value deals, and develop new business. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to maximize revenue, strengthen client relationships, and drive overall business objectives.
The Account Director will report to the VP Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands.

What You’ll Do:
You will be accountable commercial leader for Eutelsat’s sales activity across the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific region in line with the Eutelsat vision. The incumbent will be responsible for executing the sales strategy to deliver profitable top line growth.
- Sales Strategy Development: Strategic planning, account management, and execution of key initiatives to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners, serving as the primary point of contact for their needs and inquiries, providing tailored solutions and delivering exceptional service.
- Business Development: Drive growth initiatives by identifying new business opportunities and partners to expand our market presence.
- Sales Target Achievement: Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets, including upselling and cross-selling additional products and services to existing clients. Meet and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) by leveraging a consultative sales approach.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales engineering, service delivery, service management, product development, and technical support, to ensure seamless execution of client initiatives and projects.
- Reporting and Analysis: Monitor account performance data, and prepare regular reports providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management and reporting using CRM tools and other sales management systems. Manage the revenue forecast using CRM (Salesforce) and MS Office, and work with internal Finance and Sales Operations teams to ensure sales execution pipeline.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations in all client interactions and business activities.
What You’ll Need:
- 10+ years or equivalent sales and business development experience in Australia, New Zealand, and/or Pacific Islands.
- Historical and consistent record of sales target achievement.
- 7+ years or equivalent demonstrable experience in telecommunications and/or satellite experience.
- Ability to mentor and influence team members.
- Ability to identify and professionally lead complex commercial deal structures and projects.
- To be inspirational and motivated; empowered to perform.
- Ability to see all the forces, events, entities, and people that are affecting (or being affected by) the situation at hand and establish a course of action.
Where You’ll Work:
Australia. Based at our Sydney regional headquarters or working from home; dependent on where the successful applicant resides.
