As a Data Scientist, you will enable business teams at Esri understand data, find patterns, and drive meaningful insights through analytics. You will identify relevant data sources, mine, and analyze data to drive, optimize, and improve business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities and data to drive business solutions related to product sales, usage, target market segments and current customers
- Develop ETL/orchestration to capture, wrangle, and load data on a platform that is sustainable for efficiently developing predictive modeling, AI, and machine learning algorithms
- Develop custom data models and algorithms
- Research and determine the appropriate analytics based on the data and the desired outcomes, using techniques such as feature detection, statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and business intelligence
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer and business outcomes
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
- Mine data using advanced techniques such as Regression, Clustering, Random Forest, Text Mining, NLP, and Neural Networks to provide in-depth insights from data
- Write custom programs using supervised and unsupervised algorithms to build machine learning models that optimize outcomes and deliver refined results
- Develop A/B testing framework to inspect the precision, effectiveness, and overall quality of the models
- Monitor the output of models and periodically tune them to improve quality and reliability
- Create, implement, and monitor naming convention and modeling standards
- Train stakeholders on proper usage of models
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar position manipulating datasets and building statistical models
- Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets
- Strong problem-solving skills, including demonstrating clarity, depth, and relevance
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team, as well as independently under own initiative
- Good understanding of the software development life cycle
- Project management experience
- Bachelor’s in statistics, applied mathematics, or related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience using web services such as Synapse, Blob Storage, Spark, Azure, etc.
- Experience with distributed data/computing tools such as Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.
- Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders
