About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Marketing Manager, Japan to lead Matterport’s marketing efforts in one of our most dynamic and unique markets. This role will be instrumental in driving the marketing pipeline, enhancing brand awareness, and supporting revenue growth in Japan. As a key member of the International (EMEA & APJ) marketing team, you will design and execute marketing activities, collaborate closely with sales and channel partners, and manage marketing initiatives that resonate with the Japanese market. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is an individual contributor and can operate independently and within a team by maximising the impact with available resources.
You will work with the existing Japan Country leader & sales team to shape & expand Matterport's presence in Japan while contributing to the company’s global mission of transforming the built world.
This role reports to the Senior Director International Marketing and will require travel around the major cities in Japan, fluent Japanese and English speaking is essential
What you will do:
- Develop quarterly marketing plans: Working alongside the Japanese Country leader Create and execute marketing plans tailored to the Japanese market, ensuring alignment with Matterport’s global Promote/Operate marketing objectives.
- Pipeline Growth: Drive pipeline growth through working with our global teams and agencies on paid media as well as developing and executing local activities like campaigns, events, webinars, PR and other programs that convert prospects into customers.
- Channel Marketing: Collaborate with channel partners to develop and implement co-marketing programs that drive partner engagement and sales. Manage the MDF program locally ensuring compliance of activities and payments
- Brand Awareness: Increase Matterport’s visibility and credibility in Japan by executing brand-building activities such as PR, events, and localised content creation.(case studies)
- Budget Management: Plan and manage the regional marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum ROI.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Use analytics and KPIs to measure campaign performance and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales (Country Leader, Account Executives, Channel Account Managers and BDRs) and regional & global marketing to ensure alignment and effective execution of initiatives.
- Travel up to 10% of the time
Who you are:
- A highly resourceful and independent marketer with a minimum of 8 years experience in marketing roles and a proven track record of executing impactful marketing activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in Japanese and English, with a deep understanding of Japanese market dynamics, cultural nuances, and customer preferences.
- Able to manage weekly calls with teams based in the UK, Singapore and US Experienced in direct sales and channel marketing
- Able to create and support channel co-marketing programs.
- Energetic, presentable and professional
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- A team player who works closely with the sales team to understand their goals & challenges, translating these into actions delivering pipeline and revenue.
- Data-driven, with a strong ability to analyse performance metrics and adjust strategies to achieve measurable results.
- Skilled in digital marketing, demand generation, and event management, with a track record of delivering pipeline growth.
- Familiar with using Marketing & Sales tools, such as Groove, SFDC, Marketo
- Background in the Technology/Saas industry is preferable.
