What is the role?
The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing the day-to-day execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs, building systems operations, and maintenance technician performance. This role enforces safe work practices, maintains technical and compliance records, and drives reliability and maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs). The Supervisor serves as the front-line leader for the maintenance workforce and is accountable for equipment readiness, work order execution, and operational continuity.

What you will do

  • Leadership Oversight & Governance: Executes governance standards and compliance requirements within all maintenance operations; ensures adherence to site policies and regulatory obligations.
  • Facilities Management: Maintains building systems and utilities to ensure continuous, reliable facility operations within approved performance parameters.
  • Maintenance & Reliability: Leads preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), scheduling, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) programs.
  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S): Enforces safe work practices and permit-to-work systems; ensures all maintenance activities are executed in compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Physical Security & Site Access: Supports maintenance and inspection of physical security systems including access control hardware, surveillance equipment, and perimeter security infrastructure.
  • Contractor & Vendor Oversight: Coordinates contractors engaged for maintenance activities; ensures contractor compliance with site safety and work quality standards.
  • Emergency Management & Business Continuity: Ensures readiness of emergency systems including standby generators, alarm systems, and utility backups; coordinates maintenance response during emergency events.
  • Capital Projects & Engineering Support: Reviews new equipment and system designs for maintainability; supports commissioning and acceptance testing during capital project handovers.
  • Compliance, Risk & Audit Management: Maintains maintenance records, inspection documentation, and corrective action logs in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Training & Competency Management: Verifies technician qualifications and certifications; identifies and coordinates competency development needs within the maintenance team.
  • Financial & Resource Management: Manages maintenance labor utilization and material resources; controls maintenance costs within approved budgets.
  • Performance Management & Continuous Improvement: Drives reliability and maintenance KPIs including PM completion rates, mean time between failures (MTBF), and work order backlog management.
  • Leadership & People Management: Leads technicians in daily task execution; provides performance feedback, coaching, and technical guidance to develop a high-performing maintenance team.

Why you're the right candidate

  • Associate's degree, trade certification in a maintenance-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or facilities environment, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, utilities, mechanical equipment, and general facility maintenance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CMMS platforms for work order management, PM scheduling, and maintenance records.
  • Working knowledge of LOTO, hot work, confined space, and other permit-required work procedures.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.

Additional experience we'd like to see

  • Bachelor’s degree, relevant trade license or journeyman certification in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) experience and proficiency in reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) concepts.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis).
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) designation or equivalent.
  • Experience with energy management, utility optimization, and sustainability programs.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
