Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!
E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.
We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.
This role will be based onsite in our Arlington, TX offices and will report to the RF Integration & Test Lead.
What you will do
- Understand the antenna system requirements and architecture in depth along with the rest of the RF circuitry.
- Define test plans for active phased array antennas and test strategies for lab, field and on-orbit testing of the standalone antenna as well as full system test.
- Design lab setups for various types of tests, including radiated chamber tests. Build racks and other test-rigs as necessary for executing the test plan.
- Ensure timely execution, test accuracy and repeatability.
- Validate test results against simulations and root-cause issues and communicate with the appropriate teams.
- Automate the test execution including control and configuration of test equipment.
- Document test results, test coverage and other KPIs and communicate to all stakeholders regularly.
- Work with external vendors for procuring components and equipment necessary to build test systems.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams – hardware, software, mechanical, systems, etc. – in different time-zones to ensure that system requirements will be met during operation.
- Validate test results against simulations and root-cause issues and communicate with the appropriate teams.
What you bring to the role
- Masters’s degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering, RF/Antenna Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in active antenna and RF test and validation in the industry with a successful product launch history.
- Expertise in RF including analyzing and testing link budgets, antenna signatures, multipath, etc. Knowledge of RF transceiver measurement techniques such as noise figure, gain/power, ACLR, Linearity, phase noise, etc.
- Expertise in basic electromagnetics (fading, antenna theory, and propagation), Fourier analysis, and RF theory (S parameters, matching, noise figure, stability, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving with a from-first-principles approach.
- Experience with one of the mainstream antenna simulation tools (CST, HFSS…).
- Proficiency in using test equipment (e.g., power supplies, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meters, vector network analyzer).
- Understanding of wireless communications principles, especially in the context of satellite systems.
- Experience in test automation using Python or similar programming language.
- Flexible, responsive, and collaborative with an ability to work at a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong analytical and communication skills. Teamplayer.
Bonus points for the following
- Some satellite, aerospace, or related industry experience
- Experience with phased array antennas.
We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured, and used—so we’re looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge, and direct experience in LEO satellite component development, design, and in-orbit activities. If that’s your experience – then we’ll be immediately wow-ed.
