About the Team
At DoorDash, our mission is to empower every potential Dasher (Dx) to discover and succeed on our platform as their go-to gig opportunity. The Dasher Growth team’s vision is to help Dashers reliably earn money with a seamless, delightful experience—from the moment they sign up to their ongoing engagement with the platform. Our north star is to grow and maintain the optimal Dasher fleet in every market at the lowest possible cost by improving product experiences for both new and existing Dashers. We drive fleet health through Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Resurrection, and Referral. The team owns critical product flows including new Dasher onboarding, login, referrals, and incentive/non-incentive strategies—ensuring the right supply of Dashers, at the right time and place, with optimal efficiency.
About the Role
As an Engineering Manager for the Dasher Growth team, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of frontend, backend, and mobile engineers building scalable growth and supply solutions. Your work will directly impact Dasher acquisition, engagement, and retention across the U.S. and international markets. You’ll set the technical vision, drive execution, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to shape product experiences that improve Dasher supply quality while minimizing cost.

- Own core growth systems: Build and evolve login, onboarding, and referral systems to deliver smooth, secure, trustworthy and reliable experiences for Dashers.
- Drive global strategy: Define a platformization strategy for onboarding flows across countries to balance growth, user trust, and high-quality supply.
- Leverage data at scale: Partner with Data Science to make data-driven decisions that optimize acquisition, retention, and resurrection strategies with cost efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with Product, Operations, and other teams to ensure healthy Dasher supply aligned with business goals.
- Scale and inspire teams: Lead, mentor, and grow a world-class engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and impact
We’re excited about you because…
- BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
- You have 2+ years of engineering leadership experience as an EM managing backend, mobile & ML engineers
- You have 7+ years of industry experience
- You’re an owner - driven, focused, and quick to take ownership of your work
- You are impact driven - you sign up for and drive high-business impact
- A strong hands-on technical leader and strong product sense
- Humble - you’re willing to get into the details and you’re open to feedback
- You have experience navigating ambiguous business problems and tackling high-scale technical challenges.

Compensation
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

See below for paid time off details:
- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
