Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH, an EchoStar Company, is looking for a Technical Trainer who will be responsible for developing and facilitating training material within the Spacecraft Operations Center. Coordinates with management team to align department goals with the training program objectives. Training programs include: Initial Spacecraft Operations, Spacecraft Maneuver Certification, Recurring Spacecraft Controller, and Spacecraft Controller Career Progression. Execute or assist with any projects assigned by the management team. Assume Spacecraft Operations Manager duties when the manger is not available. This position will routinely work normal office hours, but will provide operations crew schedule support, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure training programs are maintained to support and reflect current operational requirements
- Manage and conduct all assigned training programs
- Develop new lesson plans for facilitating training scenarios on the Dynamic Spacecraft Simulators and spacecraft operations floor
- Facilitate remote training to include using Virtual Network Clients (VNC) and camera
- Execute evaluations for program certifications
- Ensure documentation is developed and deployed for new or updated operational support hardware or software programs
- Provide management with training schedules and recommendations
- Create team synergy with the other team members to ensure the training program is dynamic and creating enthusiasm for maintaining training efforts
- Maintain Senior Spacecraft Controller proficiency level
- Provide additional assistance in supporting crew activities
- Establish proficiency in designing training material
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of an associate degree preferred
- 6+ years of spacecraft operations experience
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must possess a general or specialized knowledge of one or more of the following spacecraft systems and subsystems: Attitude, Propulsion, Power, Data Handling, Thermal, Mechanism, and Payload
- Ability to cover a non-standard 12-hour rotating work schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively (both writing and verbally) to interact effectively with peers, management, and executive leadership
- Be detailed-oriented with strong time management skills
- Ability to support multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures or government policy
- Able to write reports/correspondence/procedure manuals, and present information and respond to questions from managers/customers/general public
- Possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other computer networking and communications systems principles
Work Attire: Business Casual
Work Hours: Core Standard Business Hours; supports 24X7 coverage consisting of a non-standard 12-hour, 2-2-3. Panama Shift Schedule on days or mids, as needed.

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year
