Department Summary
EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager - Aviation for In-Flight Connectivity to work in our Hughes Network Systems – Aero division.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
This role is responsible for owning the product roadmap and leading hardware development programs from concept through certification. This position will be located at our office in Melbourne, FL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the product roadmap for in-flight connectivity hardware solutions
- Lead and manage hardware development projects from requirements definition through prototype
- Work with the technical team to compile technical requirements from multiple customers
- Create and maintain integrated project schedules
- Manage program budgets, labor forecasting, and cost control
- Coordinate staffing for multiple functions across multiple geographic locations
- Coordinate with marketing on product strategy and customer needs
- Manage rapid prototyping activities
- Manage risk
- Manage scope change
- Support proposal development
- Transition products to production and sustainment
- Effectively communicate and present data in oral and written formats
- Multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to solve problems in a complex landscape
- This position requires occasional travel up to 15%
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 5 years in the aviation or aerospace industry
- Previous experience successfully managing aviation hardware development programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Familiarity with FAA and international certification programs
- Understanding of technical and contractual requirements flow-downs
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Experience with DO-160 qualification programs
- Ability to influence stakeholders to establish technical concurrence
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $93,500.00/Year - $117,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
