Department Summary

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Document Control Specialist in the Hughes Network Systems division to join our aviation team. Hughes is a leading provider of satellite products and is offering disruptive in-flight entertainment and connectivity solutions for airlines.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

This position will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all documentation related to aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain controlled documents including engineering drawings, specifications, manuals, certifications, and regulatory records
  • Ensure timely review, approval, distribution, and archiving of documents in accordance with company and aviation industry standards (e.g., FAA, EASA, Boeing, AS9100)
  • Implement and enforce document control procedures and workflows using a document management system and PLM tool (Teamcenter X)
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Production, Certification) to ensure documentation is current and accessible
  • Track revisions, maintain version control, and ensure obsolete documents are properly retired
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and records
  • Train staff on document control processes and systems as needed
  • Monitor compliance with document control policies and escalate discrepancies

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Aviation Management, related field or combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in document control

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with aviation regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, AS9100).
  • Experience preferably in aerospace or another highly regulated field
  • Experience with configuration management and change control processes
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems
  • Background in technical writing or records management
  • Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, Windchill)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $79,000.00/Year - $99,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
