Job Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have over five years of hands-on experience in the network security domain, with a strong background in cloud environments. This role is responsible for managing our firewall infrastructure, web application firewalls (WAF), and data security solutions to protect our organization's critical assets from cyber threats. You will play a crucial role in analyzing network traffic, managing security policies, and leading security approval processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Firewall Management: Lead the end-to-end firewall approval process, including running approval calls, reviewing change requests, and ensuring timely implementation of security policies on Palo Alto Strata firewalls.
- WAF Administration: Manage, configure, and maintain our F5 WAF infrastructure, including the SAS XC Cloud solution, to protect web applications from a wide range of threats.
- Security Operations (SOC): Utilize strong SOC skills to perform in-depth analysis of packet flows and HTTP headers, identifying and mitigating potential security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Data Security: Operate and manage data security tools, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Varonis, to monitor, protect, and govern sensitive organizational data.
- Cloud & Network Security: Provide subject matter expertise on network and cloud security principles, with hands-on experience managing security tools such as Zscaler to secure internet access and cloud-based applications.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the network security domain.
- Firewall Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls (Strata).
- WAF Proficiency: Proven, in-depth experience managing and configuring F5 WAF solutions.
- Cloud Knowledge: Solid understanding of cloud security principles and experience working with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze network traffic, packet captures, and logs to troubleshoot and identify security issues.
- Technical Stack: Hands-on experience with Zscaler, DLP, and Varonis.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)
- SIEM Knowledge: Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for log analysis and correlation.
Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as PCNSE, CISSP, or GIAC are highly desirable.
