Department Summary
EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Compensation Specialist in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with HR and Sales Management to create annual sales plans and customized quota agreements for each sales person including, gathering and organizing current and past year data, discussing plan components and potential changes, calculating rates/target variables/bonuses, and preparing spreadsheets and presentations for approval
- After approval of annual sales plans, create personalized documents for employee communications, upload them into the commission system and ensure acknowledgment by the deadline
- Build and maintain relationships with business partners across the organization
- Process commissions accurately and timely for all sales groups on a monthly/quarterly basis using Varicent (formerly IBM ICM), SAP, Excel and internal reporting tools
- Communicate with sales employees, management, payroll, finance, sales operations and IT to research and solve problems, ensuring the use of accurate information
- Assist in designing, testing and implementing system enhancements and automation
- Manage each sales group’s priorities, deadlines and needs throughout the plan year
- Participate in various corporate events as a member of the HR Team, including Take Your Child to Work Day and Business Reviews
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required finance, human resources or related fields
- 5+ years of experience in designing and/or processing sales commissions
- 5+ years of experience conducting analytical work
- 5+ years using excel to create tables, charts, formulas and formatting
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Excel functions, calculations and formatting
- Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources, Compensation, Payroll, and support of International employees.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a project team
- Experience in data integrity analytics, reporting, and system control practices
- Experience in project management with the ability to manage timelines
- Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $67,000.00/Year - $84,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
