Job Duties and Responsibilities

This pivotal role drives the success and growth of gen Mobile's prepaid distribution channels by acting as the primary liaison and strategic partner for our distributors. The Account Manager is responsible for optimizing performance across all key business metrics, ensuring operational excellence, and leading alignment between distribution partners and internal cross-functional teams. This highly visible position requires significant travel to regional markets to advise on strategy, coordinate activities, and execute impactful programs that fuel business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage prepaid distributors including their authorized retailer store onboarding and growth, performance to KPI’s, sales orders, and operational escalations
  • Focus on driving results for all current business priorities (store onboarding, store merchandising, gross activations, customer retention, and profitability)
  • Review reporting to identify outliers within each distributor and facilitate actionable plans for improvement
  • Liaison between all Gen stakeholders (sales, marketing, operations, and customer care) and channel distribution
  • Ensure alignment between distributors and Gen Mobile teams
  • Coordinate marketing blitzes with internal and external field teams
  • Advise distributors and internal field teams on store visit strategy
  • Act as regional account executive (including store visits/merchandising and coordinating area distributor/Gen field team activities) in local market
  • Assist with development of best practices for field teams
  • At least 50% travel with primary focus on driving business priorities through distributor meetings
  • Supporting internal and distributor field teams with Gen Mobile resources (trainings, sales, operations, marketing, and customer care)
  • Coordinate and execute field trainings, Monthly Business Reviews (including customer retention, profitability, and new store growth), and operational escalations
  • Be the subject matter expert on competitor information to train the assigned distributor accounts on how to sell Gen Mobile again the competitors
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities and surface them to management with a recommended course of action to address

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, or related field (required or preferred depending on role level)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in B2B telecom, wireless, broadband, or cloud services account management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates strong negotiation skills at all levels of the organization, striving for win-win solutions
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation skills with executive management and distributor teams (business reviews and trainings)
  • Understanding and positioning Gen Mobile products and services based on distributor needs
  • Understands and applies information related to the Prepaid Retail Wireless business in order to contribute to Gen Mobile strategic plan
  • Demonstrates high levels of integrity, ambition, fortitude and discipline to effectively perform and meet business goals and objectives
  • Ability to identify customer pain points and translate them into tailored technical and commercial solutions
  • Proven track record of managing mid-market or enterprise accounts and achieving or exceeding sales quotas
  • Experience building and maintaining executive-level customer relationships, including contract renewals and upsell cycles
  • Strong understanding of telecom products such as mobility, IoT, fiber solutions, unified communications, cloud networking and managed services
  • Demonstrated ability to develop account plans, forecast revenue and manage a pipeline using CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
  • Experience coordinating with internal teams (engineering, operations, product, finance) to deliver customer solutions

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $72,622.50/Year - $103,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
