Job Duties and Responsibilities
The DISH & Sling Go-To-Market team is accountable for the strategy, growth, and development of all marketing initiatives driving the DISH and SLING TV business annually. This team manages the campaigns and initiatives that tell our brand story, reach our target audiences, and drive our yearly sales goals. As the Media Planning Program Manager, you will own the development and execution of media plans that optimize reach, engagement, and ROI across all paid channels. This is an exciting, dynamic role to have during an exciting time at Echostar, as we look to evolve our offerings based on the changing dynamics in the category and our entry into Wireless.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define Media Objectives & KPIs: Partner with Media team to translate business and campaign goals into clear media objectives, success metrics, and attribution frameworks
- Develop Holistic Media Strategy: Collect and organize channel mix recommendations—paid social, programmatic display, video, TV/OTT/CTV, search, audio, affiliate, etc—considering timing, flighting, geography, and format
- Audience & Persona Development: Analyze first- and third-party data to build detailed audience segments and buyer personas; map audiences to channel activation strategies
- Budget Allocation & Forecasting: Partner with Media team to allocate and manage media budgets (e.g., 40% paid social, 30% programmatic), forecast spend pacing, and reallocate funds to maximize incremental reach and performance
- Calendar & Campaign Planning: Create integrated media calendars across launches, heavy-ups, and evergreen campaigns; ensure seamless handoffs between media launch, optimization, and wrap-up phases
- Creative Collaboration: Work closely with creative development counterparts to develop channel-specific asset briefs (ad formats, specs, messaging hierarchies) and ensure on-time delivery
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Align media plans with broader GTM messaging, lifecycle stage strategies, and product launch roadmaps in partnership with Brand, Digital, Insights, and Acquisition teams
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Partner with Media channel owners and analytics team to track campaign performance in real time, conduct A/B tests, and adjust tactics—bids, placements, creative rotations—to hit efficiency and effectiveness targets
- Post-Campaign Analysis & Reporting: Lead post-mortem analyses and QBRs —media mix modeling, incrementality testing, audience overlap studies—and synthesize learnings into actionable recommendations and quarterly scorecards
