Job Duties:

The hire of a senior engineer would be an important asset for meeting the WindRiver CaaS Migration project's requirements.

This role will be crucial in automating tasks, streamlining the migration process, and addressing ongoing engineering requirements during the migration phases.

The engineer will be responsible for automating workflows, maintaining infrastructure, and ensuring the success and stability of the WindRiver CaaS platform.

This position will also provide continuing support after migration, addressing future engineering challenges and ensuring operational excellence.

• Primary Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Administer Linux operating systems and AWS resources, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Application Deployment: Deploy and manage applications Kubernetes (K8s) and services utilizing Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Playbook Development: Create and implement Ansible playbooks to streamline application deployment across various Linux environments.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Demonstrate a strong understanding of AWS services, including VPC, EC2, Security Groups, S3, and Kubernetes clusters, focusing on provisioning, scaling, and container orchestration.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Familiarity: Integrate with CI/CD pipelines, specifically using GitLab, to facilitate application deployment and automate workflows.
  • Monitoring and Security Automation: Automate system monitoring, upgrades, and security patches for both Linux and Windows servers to maintain high availability.
  • Resource Optimization: Identify and recommend updates to Linux systems and Kubernetes architecture to enhance resource utilization and scalability.
  • Backup Strategy Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive backup strategies and policies to ensure data integrity, availability, and efficient recovery across diverse systems.
  • Observability Tools Utilization: Employ observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting on system performance.
  • Documentation: Document technical processes and procedures, including architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures for Linux and Windows environments.
  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux servers, Kubernetes networking, and container lifecycle management.
    
    
  Team Collaboration: Collaborate within Scrum teams to clarify requirements and contribute to design and automation efforts.

Skills:

Primary skill set include Kubernetes (Cluster creation, deletion, troubleshooting the cluster level issues, deep log analysis and Linux administration.
Secondary skill set but mandatory: Cloud engineering knowledge (DataOps, Sysops, Observability, EC2, S3).
