Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and manage perimeter security infrastructure (firewalls, web proxies, IDS/IPS, VPNs, DLP and F5 SaaS WAF).
- Monitor and respond to security threats affecting the network perimeter.
- Optimize security policies and configurations to balance protection and performance.
- Manage and fine-tune F5 SaaS WAF to protect web applications from evolving threats.
- Oversee firewall change management and approval processes, ensuring compliance with security policies and business requirements.
- Collaborate with SOC, Incident Response, and IT teams to enhance threat detection and mitigation.
- Review and provide system security requirements/guidance on new initiatives, applications, systems and services.
- Ensure compliance with industry security standards and best practices.
- Conduct security assessments and recommend improvements.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant professional system security engineering or administration experience, with significant exposure to a variety of technologies and domains.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems.
- Experience writing standard operating procedures and other technical documents.
- Strong experience with next gen firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco), web proxies (Blue Coat, Zscaler), IDS/IPS), and F5 SaaS WAF.
- Expertise in firewall change management processes, policy reviews, and access control best practices.
- Experience with SIEM, automation (XSIAM), DLP tools (Zscaler or Mcafee) and cloud security is a plus.
- Data Protection: Database security (Imperva), encryption (Thales, CipherTrust, PGP, Gemalto, Vormetric), PKI.
- Certifications like CISSP, CCNP Security+, PCNSE, AWS, Zscaler or equivalent are preferred.
