Job Duties and Responsibilities

Head of Cloud Network Engineering sought by DISH Wireless L.L.C. in Littleton, CO

Support DISH’s virtual data center networks. Oversee network planning, cloud infrastructure, and design of cloud-based data center network environments supporting the buildout of DISH’s 5G wireless infrastructure. Responsible for reviewing architectural standards and updates. Provide feedback and execute the implementation of large-scale Cloud Networking within public cloud providers. Understand and configure public cloud providers networking capabilities, functions, and carrier networking technologies such as SR-MPLS, QoS, and 5G packet core infrastructure and needs. The Head of Cloud Network Engineering will be responsible for the intake of new functions, documenting, executing, testing, automating critical functions of the Cloud Networking infrastructure. Responsible for implementing and optimizing the latest networking solutions. Manage the Cloud Network Design/Implementation team. Hire, plan, communicate, and management of the team. Create, maintain, and upgrade the cloud network infrastructure. Design and develop cloud network node configurations. Support validation, deployment, optimization and operations of cloud network nodes. Manage capital budget, commercial contracts, software purchase orders. Test and validate new software services, feature enhancements, and software bug fixes. Develop and maintain two-to-three-year strategic cloud infrastructure. Develop and oversee change management and quality assurance processes. Review and approve engineering design proposals, implementation plans, and acceptance plans.


Skills, Experience and Requirements

Requires: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. 7 years of experience (at least 5 of which is Progressive post-baccalaureate experience) in Job offered, or as Network Engineer, Consultant (Network Architect), Product Manager, or closely related role. Also requires 7 years of experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):

  • IPv6 - SLAAC and DHCPv6, Software Defined Networking (SDN) - Design and Traffic Engineering;
  • Multi-site architectures, VDCs, edge routing, BGP, iBGP, IS-IS, VRFs, QoS. Integration with public cloud providers including AWS, Azure, or GCP;
  • OSI model, routing and switching protocols, network security, IPv4 and IPv6 networking, subnetting, and operational;
  • Network Deployment and Operations Automation - Ansible, Cloud Formation; and
  • Network configuration automation (Scripting with Perl, Python, Bash, and Cloud Formation.

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $200,000.00/Year - $200,000.00/Year
