Digantara is a leading Space Surveillance and Intelligence company focused on ensuring orbital safety and sustainability. With expertise in space-based detection, tracking, identification, and monitoring, Digantara provides comprehensive domain awareness across regimes, allowing end users to have actionable intelligence on a single platform. At the core of its infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligned with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach empowers Digantara to monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain awareness.
We are seeking a proficient Astrodynamics Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing systems to solve complex Space Domain Awareness challenges, particularly to detect, identify, track, and maintain the custody of the space object.
The ideal candidate is someone who has worked on Neuromorphic O.D.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test various mathematical intensive algorithms for SDA applications.
- Implement and optimize algorithms for associating sensor data with known orbits, ensuring accurate and rapid identification of space objects.
- Perform initial and precise orbit determination of space objects using observations from ground-based sensors (Electro-Optical & Neuromorphic).
- Apply advanced statistical/machine learning methods to quantify uncertainties in the orbit, providing realistic covariance estimates.
- Process uncorrelated tracks (UCOs/UCTs) to perform orbit-to-track and/or track-to-track association from incoming sensor data.
- Refine state solutions for objects post-maneuver based on observation data from sensors.
- Support integration, testing, and operation of the SDA systems and technology chain.
- Conduct R&D on emerging technologies in astrodynamics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning for SDA.
- Actively participate in writing and publishing technical white papers, journals, proposals etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. in Astrodynamics, Aerospace, Mathematics, Physics or a relevant discipline.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Space Surveillance & Tracking, Space Domain Awareness, or related areas.
- Significant aptitude with computational astrodynamics/orbital mechanics, numerical methods, and uncertainty quantifications
- Experience in managing engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, risk management and effective team collaboration.
Preferred Qualities:
- Experience in software programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and MATLAB
- Proficiency in using numerical methods for orbit determination and modeling and familiarity with SDA tools.
- Hands-on experience in processing real-world data from electro-optical/neuromorphic sensors.
- Proficient in working with Linux-based systems and managing version control using Git.
- Familiarity with software packages/libraries/tools such as GMAT, AGI STK/ODTK, FreeFlyer, Orekit, etc.
- Skilled in creating detailed technical reports, contents, manuals, and operational guidelines.
General Requirements:
- Ability to take direction and work independently.
- Interpersonal skills to enable working in a diverse and dynamic team.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
- Verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skills.
- Travel occasionally as necessary.
