Technical Recruiter Engineering (Initial 12 month FTC)

We’re looking for a Technical Recruiter to help us find and hire the engineers who design, build, and scale the products that power Deliveroo from the app experience you see on your phone to the complex systems that keep orders moving behind the scenes. This role sits within our Engineering Recruiting team and reports into the Recruiting Manager, Engineering (UK). You’ll focus on hiring across Front End, Back End, Full Stack, iOS, and Android, partnering closely with hiring managers, sourcing partners, and the broader People team. Your impact will go beyond filling roles. You’ll shape how we approach hiring from how we define what ‘great’ looks like in an engineer, to how we build diverse talent pipelines, and create a seamless experience for every candidate. You’ll be the bridge between brilliant technical teams and the talent market, helping Deliveroo continue to grow and innovate at pace.

What you’ll be doing:

Hire exceptional engineers

You’ll manage full-cycle recruitment for engineering roles at all levels, from mid-weight to staff. Partnering with hiring managers, you’ll define role requirements, build diverse talent pipelines, and run smooth, efficient processes from first conversation to final offer.

Build trusted partnerships

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Engineering and Product, understanding business goals, coaching hiring managers, and influencing decisions with insight and data. You’ll be seen as a strategic partner who knows the market and how to hire within it.

Use data to drive better hiring

You’ll track and share key hiring metrics, pipeline reports, and market insights with leadership teams. You’ll use data to refine strategies, identify gaps, and continuously improve how we hire.

Improve how we recruit

You’ll help streamline workflows, raise quality, and bring consistency to how we assess talent. That includes collaborating on process improvements that make us more scalable as we grow.

Champion inclusive hiring

You’ll embed DE&I principles into every stage of the process from diversifying sourcing channels to reducing bias in assessment. You’ll also partner with the team on inclusive campaigns and initiatives.

Create great candidate experiences

You’ll set the tone from first touchpoint to final offer, making sure every candidate has a clear, respectful, and engaging experience — one that reflects what it’s like to work at Deliveroo.

Collaborate with the global recruiting team

You’ll contribute to cross-functional projects, share best practices, and support a culture of learning and collaboration across the wider recruiting team.

What you’ll bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in a technical recruitment agency or in-house tech environment

  • Experience hiring across technical specialisms like Software Engineering and Product.

  • End-to-end hiring experience in fast-paced, often ambiguous environments

  • Strong sourcing skills across platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter and Ashby, with a focus on building diverse talent pipelines

  • Confidence using data to inform decisions, track progress, and communicate clearly with stakeholders

  • Comfortable advising and influencing hiring managers and senior partners; you know how to build alignment

  • Genuine curiosity about how different technical teams work together to build great products

  • Adaptability -you can pivot quickly and keep things moving when priorities shift

Why Deliveroo

Our mission is to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders. We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it, when and where they want it.

Workplace & Benefits

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. Benefits differ by country, but we offer many benefits in areas including healthcare, well-being, parental leave, pensions, and generous annual leave allowances, including time off to support a charitable cause of your choice. Benefits are country-specific, please ask your recruiter for more information.

Diversity

At Deliveroo, we believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses in a rapidly growing industry.

We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our hiring process. We recognise that some candidates may require adjustments to apply for a position or fairly participate in the interview process. If you require any adjustments, please don't hesitate to let us know. We will make every effort to provide the necessary adjustments to ensure you have an equitable opportunity to succeed.
