Role
At Deliveroo, we manage one of the most complex three-sided marketplaces in the world, and we do it in real time. Millions of customers and thousands of restaurants, various types of businesses, and delivery drivers rely on us to connect them within seconds. In this organization, the Grocery vertical is led as a start up managing several dimensions independently from the core Restaurant business (partners, customers, products…).
As part of the Finance & Strategy department in France, reporting to the Head of Strategy & Initiatives, you partner with the Grocery BU Lead, Country leadership, Head of Commercial, Head of Marketing and Head of Category Management to help set the strategic direction of the Grocery BU and drive step changes in growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
Act as the Finance Business Partner of the Grocery Director to define the long-term strategy of the business, define the strategic & tactical roadmap to win in the French online grocery market
Support key stakeholders of the business: from providing financial literacy when negotiating with platform partners to providing key insights when running promotional mechanics
Drive strategic planning process: define annual targets & strategic initiatives needed to achieve them, translate strategic goals into measurable & trackable KPIs
Coordinate cross-functional teams, between commercial, marketing, finance & product teams to ensure best-in-class execution of complex projects
Own performance and financial reporting & forecasting
Requirements
Hard skills
3+ years of financial and strategic experience, as a key contributor to strategic and financial planning (business analyst, strategy consulting, M&A/VC/PE analyst)
Advanced skills in financial modeling and strategic thinking (experience as a business analyst, strategy consultant…)
Comfortable with Gsheet & Excel and have some experience on reporting/data analysis software

Fluent speaker in both French & English, able to communicate in a clear, simple way both written and oral,
Soft skills
Problem solver and critical thinker, with a deep analytical mindset and a strong attention to detail,
Thinking outside the box and using all the tools at his disposal to proactively identify problems and juggle across multiple departments and scales,
Self-starter comfortable in working with tight deadlines, contributing to the fast-paced, high impact and dynamic environment of Deliveroo,
Good listener and communicator, able to ask the right questions and capture key informations,
Nice-to-have
Experience in food retail, category management, B2C marketing and Digital Growth strategies.
Experience using Looker and/or SQL
Data science projects experience and practice in statistical software (Python or R)
