Industrial Engineer — Manufacturing Operations & Process Optimization

This opportunity is with a client of Andiamo, supporting a large-scale industrial manufacturing operation focused on production efficiency, facility optimization, workflow improvement, and operational engineering excellence.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly analytical and solutions-oriented Industrial Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing environment where operational performance, process efficiency, and continuous improvement are critical to success.

This role is ideal for an engineering professional who thrives in fast-paced production settings and enjoys solving complex workflow, layout, and systems challenges. You will play a key role in evaluating manufacturing stations, improving operational layouts, supporting engineering projects, and identifying opportunities to optimize production performance through data-driven analysis and engineering best practices.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical engineering expertise with practical manufacturing knowledge and the ability to collaborate across production, operations, and engineering teams.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Manufacturing Process Improvement

  • Analyze manufacturing workflows, labor utilization, and production methods to improve operational efficiency and throughput
  • Evaluate workstations, production cells, and facility layouts to identify optimization opportunities
  • Develop and update manufacturing layouts and engineering documentation to support operational changes and new initiatives
  • Study production timing, labor movement, and equipment utilization to establish improved operating standards
  • Support workflow balancing, material flow improvements, and process streamlining initiatives
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations

Engineering Analysis & Technical Support

  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical schematics, production specifications, and manufacturing documentation
  • Create engineering sketches, layouts, diagrams, and visual process documentation
  • Utilize CAD and simulation tools to model manufacturing environments and evaluate operational improvements
  • Prepare charts, floor plans, graphs, and workflow analyses to communicate engineering findings and recommendations
  • Review production reports, logs, and operational data to validate quality and efficiency standards
  • Conduct detailed analysis to identify process deviations, bottlenecks, and opportunities for performance gains

Operational & Production Support

  • Observe manufacturing operations and equipment usage to ensure adherence to operational and quality standards
  • Assist with production planning considerations, machine utilization analysis, and workflow coordination
  • Evaluate production constraints, labor allocation, and anticipated operational delays
  • Support implementation of engineering-driven process enhancements and manufacturing best practices
  • Document findings and present recommendations to engineering and operational leadership teams

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and engineering layout tools
  • Experience using 3D simulation or manufacturing modeling software
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and engineering reports
  • Experience creating engineering sketches, layouts, and manufacturing process documentation
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting manufacturing layout redesigns or operational optimization projects
  • Knowledge of time studies, motion analysis, and workflow balancing methodologies
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Background working in high-volume production or industrial manufacturing environments

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Fully onsite position within a manufacturing and engineering environment
  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Collaborative engineering environment with direct exposure to manufacturing operations and process improvement initiatives

Compensation & Additional Details

  • Maximum pay rate: $52/hour
  • 30-minute Zoom interview process for selected candidates
