Senior Mobile Engineer — React Native & Marketplace Experiences

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Engineer to play a critical role in shaping the future of a high-growth mobile platform used by a rapidly expanding customer base. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on building polished, scalable, and high-performing mobile experiences across both iOS and Android.
You will join a core product engineering team responsible for some of the platform’s most visible and business-critical mobile capabilities. The ideal candidate is deeply experienced in React Native development, passionate about mobile architecture, and energized by solving real-world product and performance challenges in fast-moving environments.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical depth with product impact — an engineer who wants to influence architecture, improve developer experience, mentor teammates, and ship features that customers interact with every day.
What You’ll Be Working On
Mobile Product Development
Lead the delivery of sophisticated mobile features from technical planning through production deployment across iOS and Android platforms.
Develop high-quality, maintainable TypeScript and React Native code that prioritizes usability, responsiveness, scalability, and long-term reliability.
Build mobile experiences that support dynamic marketplace operations, real-time inventory visibility, and evolving customer workflows.
Partner closely with Product and Design teams to transform business requirements into intuitive mobile interactions and seamless customer journeys.
Architecture & Engineering Excellence
Help shape the future direction of the mobile platform by contributing to architectural decisions involving state management, navigation systems, API integrations, modular feature development, and application structure.
Drive improvements in application performance, startup speed, rendering efficiency, memory usage, and overall mobile stability.
Reduce technical debt through thoughtful refactoring, reusable component design, and scalable engineering patterns.
Contribute to mobile security best practices, accessibility standards, observability tooling, and resilient error handling strategies.
Reliability & Operational Quality
Investigate and resolve production incidents, platform inconsistencies, application crashes, and edge-case mobile issues.
Strengthen release quality by improving automated testing, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.
Implement meaningful logging, crash reporting, and operational visibility tools to improve long-term reliability and maintainability.
Participate in incident response efforts, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and collaborative problem-solving.
Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly while balancing delivery speed, engineering quality, customer impact, and long-term scalability.
Contribute to a strong engineering culture centered around ownership, collaboration, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years of hands-on React Native development experience in production environments
- Strong expertise in TypeScript and modern React development patterns
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade mobile applications across both iOS and Android
- Background working on marketplace, retail, eCommerce, or inventory-driven mobile platforms
- Experience handling real-time operational data and rapidly changing user-facing information
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, performance optimization, and scalability
- Hands-on experience with state management solutions such as React Query, Zustand, or similar frameworks
- Experience working within the Expo ecosystem
- Ability to build and integrate custom native mobile modules
- Experience with mobile CI/CD workflows, app store deployment processes, and observability platforms
- Strong understanding of mobile UX principles, accessibility, logging, data persistence, and secure application design
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical leadership initiatives
- Exposure to Kotlin or Compose Multiplatform development
- Experience contributing to modern web applications using technologies such as Next.js or TypeScript
- Familiarity with scalable marketplace or logistics-driven product ecosystems
